About Neuropsychiatric Associates of Austin
In 1972, two psychiatric physicians, Drs. Stuart Nemir and Tracy Gordy, shared a vision of diagnosis and
treatment, integrating brain and behavior, that became the foundation of Neuropsychiatric Associates
of Austin (NPA). Over the past four decades, the physicians and members of NPA have been leaders in
their field, serving as medical directors of hospitals and programs and as volunteer educators in the
community. Two NPA member physicians served as past president of the Texas Society of Psychiatric
Physicians and one has been the president of the Travis County Medical Society. Every practitioner at
NPA is serving, or has served, in the public mental health arena. Several members serve as supervisors
for psychiatric residency training programs for surrounding medical schools.
At NPA, we assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric illness affecting children, adolescents, and adults.
